The upcoming HBO docuseries "Love Has Won: The Cult Of Mother God" delves into the life and death of Amy Carlson, the leader of the New Age spiritual sect Love Has Won. Carlson, who claimed to be a divine being and insisted on being called "Mom" or "Mother God," preached a combination of spiritualism, Abrahamic beliefs, and QAnon conspiracy theories to her devoted followers. Under Carlson's leadership, Love Has Won had about 20 core members in Colorado who were dedicated to recruiting more followers through daily live streams on YouTube. Former members have accused Carlson of brainwashing and abuse. Carlson's mummified corpse was found in a Colorado home in 2021, and she had died of anorexia, alcohol abuse, and chronic colloidal silver ingestion. The docuseries features interviews with former members and Carlson's family and will premiere on November 13.

New Age Pianist George Winston Passes Away at 73.

George Winston, the pianist known for his soothing piano instrumentals in a style often described as new age, died at the age of 74. His top-selling records for the Windham Hill label helped define a genre that took off in the 1970s. He won a Grammy Award for best new age album in 1994 and was nominated four other times. Winston's music was inspired by nature and he was also interested in Hawaiian slack-key guitar and the Doors. Critics sometimes found his piano work to be unsophisticated or repetitive, but he sold millions of albums and drew enthusiastic audiences wherever he played.
