Apple's iOS 27 adds Trust Insights to warn users of scams in real time
Apple iOS 27 introduces Trust Insights, an on-device framework that analyzes interaction patterns, timing, context and basic sensor data to detect potential social-engineering scams in real time. It can flag medium to high risk and trigger warnings, delays or extra verification during payment, account changes, resource use, communication, or other operations. The system does not inspect content from Photos, Messages, or Mail; it discards raw data locally and only sends a single risk value to Apple servers, which may be combined with Apple Account signals. Users can disable Trust Insights in Settings, though a cooldown period is intended to prevent bypasses. Developers should provide feedback via Feedback Assistant.
