Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Dazzles with Fireballs and Anti-Tail Display
Comet C/2023 A3, also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, is visible this weekend in the constellation Ophiuchus, just below the Summer Triangle asterism. Although it requires binoculars or a small telescope to see, the dark sky following the New Moon offers a good viewing opportunity. Additionally, the South Taurid meteor shower, featuring bright 'Halloween fireballs,' peaks this week. The comet is currently 97 million miles from Earth and is getting fainter. Observers in the Northern Hemisphere can locate it by looking southwest an hour after sunset.
