
Adirondack Grad Smashes Solo Pacific Row, Sets New World Records
Adirondack High School graduate Kelsey Pfendler completed a solo row from Monterey, California to Oahu, Hawaii in 43 days, becoming the first American woman to finish the trek solo and breaking the previous women’s record (86 days 10 hours 5 minutes) as well as the men’s record (52 days). She arrived to cheering crowds in Honolulu, saying she hadn’t expected the historic outcome.
