The Padre Island National Seashore in Texas will offer the longest view of the annular solar eclipse or "ring of fire" on October 14, 2023, lasting 4 minutes and 52 seconds, weather permitting. Other scenic locations across the US offering promising views of the spectacle are Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, Lava Beds National Monument in California, Great Basin National Park in Nevada, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, as well as Natural Bridges National Monument and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park in Arizona. San Antonio, located along the path of annularity, will also have ideal views for the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse.
