United Reverses on Memo Offering Free Reroutes From Trump-Named Palm Beach Airport
United Airlines reportedly walked back an internal memo instructing agents to offer free alternative flights (such as to Fort Lauderdale or Miami) to travelers unhappy with Palm Beach International Airport’s renaming to President Donald J. Trump International Airport; a spokesperson framed the memo as poorly worded and said airline changes aren’t based on airport name or code, while the rename has already cost $5.5 million and the DJT code will replace PBI in mid‑August.
