
Marjane Satrapi, Persepolis creator, dies at 56
Marjane Satrapi, the Franco-Iranian author of Persepolis and filmmaker, has died in Paris at 56. Her autobiographical graphic novel and its Oscar-nominated film chronicled a Tehran childhood through the 1979 Revolution and made her a global cultural figure; a vocal critic of Iran's government, she lived in France since the 1990s.
