YouTube Shorts Gets UI Cleanup, 2x Speed, and Time Controls
Google is rolling out YouTube Shorts updates to reduce clutter and improve usability: Clear Screen mode hides on-screen UI for an unobstructed view, Shorts can be played at 2x speed, and a quick pause/mute option helps prevent loud interruptions. The Like button becomes a Heart and the Dislike option is removed, with a Not Interested option to refine recommendations. A new Time management setting called Shorts feed limit lets users cap daily viewing from 0 to 2 hours, and the rollout is beginning now.
