Top tennis stars protest prize-money share at Roland Garros
Several top players, including Djokovic, Sinner, Sabalenka, and Gauff, will skip pre-tournament media conferences and refuse interviews with the French Open media and rights holders, while still doing post-match flash interviews, to push for a larger prize-money share (aiming for 22% of revenue, up from about 15%). The FFT plans meetings this week to discuss governance and revenue-sharing. The 2026 French Open prize pool is $72.3 million, part of a broader trend of rising payouts across majors.
