iPhone 18 Pro Max Surges Ahead in Charging Speed

The iPhone 18 Pro Max charges from 0% to 100% in about 55 minutes with a capable 60W+ USB‑C charger, roughly 26 minutes faster than the iPhone 17 Pro Max; 50% in 15 minutes (vs. 20). Peak charging reached about 52W in the first 12 minutes. Apple notes the fastest speeds require a 60W+ Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS), such as its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. Real‑world benefits depend on your charging habits (overnight vs. daytime top‑ups).

"Maximizing iPhone 15's Charging Speed and Connectivity with USB-C"

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro now come with a USB-C port instead of Apple's Lightning port, allowing for faster charging. To fast charge the iPhone 15, you'll need a higher wattage charging brick, such as Apple's 20W USB-C power adapter, which can charge the phone from zero to 50% in about 30 minutes and to 100% in under 2 hours. Other higher-wattage USB-C charging options are also available on the market. USB-C allows for fast charging of all Apple devices using the same cable and a 60W (or higher) MacBook power adapter.

"iPhone 15 Pro Max: Unveiling the Power of the 20W Adapter in Battery Charge Test [Video]"

A battery charge test of the iPhone 15 Pro Max reveals that Apple's 20W power adapter is a better solution than the 30W power adapter. The test showed a mere 10-minute difference in charging time between the two adapters, with no significant gap in battery levels. While the 30W adapter may seem preferable, the compact size and convenience of the 20W adapter make it a more practical choice, especially when dealing with limited power outlet space.

"iPhone 15: Faster Charging Speeds and USB-C Upgrade Revealed"

The upcoming iPhone 15 models may support faster charging speeds of up to 35W due to the transition from Lightning to USB-C. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted this change, stating that it would enable faster charging for iPhone 15 Pro models. However, customers may need to purchase Apple-certified cables or chargers separately, as Apple stopped bundling power adapters with iPhones in 2020. The European Union has set a deadline of December 2024 for all new phones sold within the bloc to support USB-C charging. The iPhone 15 is expected to be unveiled on September 12th and may feature slimmer bezels and a titanium frame.
