BMW will reveal the all-new 2027 X5 on June 30, highlighting Neue Klasse styling with X-shaped headlights and smaller kidney grilles, and offering five drivetrain options: gas, diesel, plug-in hybrid, fully electric, and hydrogen.
The 2027 Silverado 1500 debuts with a refreshed design and a broader powertrain lineup, including two new V8s (5.7L and 6.6L), a 2.7L turbo, and a Duramax 3.0L diesel; interior tech gets a major upgrade with an 11.5-inch passenger screen on higher trims, plus a 12.2-inch gauge cluster and a 16.3-inch center display on the base Work Truck. It will be offered in seven trims and built in Flint, Michigan and Tonawanda, New York, with pricing and on-sale timing to be announced; Super Cruise Level 2 is highlighted for towing.
The 2027 Audi Q7 introduces US-ready Digital Matrix LED lighting and other tech, a refined interior with six- or seven-passenger seating, and two powertrains: a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 delivering 429 HP (0–60 in 4.8s) and a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in the SQ7 delivering 591 HP (3.7s). Both use an eight-speed Tiptronic and Quattro AWD, with the SQ7 adding standard adaptive air suspension; production stays in Bratislava, with US deliveries expected in late 2026 and pricing to be announced later.
Mazda introduces the 2025 CX-70, a two-row mid-size SUV with straight-six power, sharing similarities with the CX-90 but featuring a sportier design. It offers Amazon Alexa integration, Unresponsive Driver Support, and the same powertrains as the CX-90, including a plug-in hybrid option. With standard rear-biased all-wheel drive and a spacious cargo area, the CX-70 is expected to be incrementally lighter and more efficient than the CX-90. Pricing is yet to be announced, but it is anticipated to be slightly cheaper than the CX-90, with an expected arrival in dealers later this year.
Spy footage captures the next-gen Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe being tested in various colors on the Nürburgring and nearby roads. The cars feature a distinctive front-end styling with angled vertical slits and a narrow opening along the bottom. The profile showcases a sleek design with a simple arch for the roofline, fender vents, and a sharp crease running backward. The rear boasts smooth sculpting, skinny taillights, and trapezoidal exhaust pipes. The AMG GT Coupe shares underpinnings with the latest Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and is expected to offer a range of powertrains, including PHEV versions. Mercedes is unveiling the new AMG GT through a sneak preview event, which has already sold out, but the official debut date is yet to be announced.
The online configurator for the 2024 Ford Mustang is now live, offering a range of customization options for the new S650 generation. The Mustang is available in three powertrain options: EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse, with six different trims available. Prices range from $33,160 to $64,860. The EcoBoost model features a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the GT and Dark Horse models come with a 5.0-liter V8 engine. The manual transmission is only available for the V8 models. Optional packages and various color options are also offered.
Aston Martin has signed a technology partnership with US-based EV startup Lucid, which will provide the British carmaker with access to Lucid's powertrains and battery systems technology. The deal, worth $450m, will see Aston Martin pay Lucid $232m in cash and shares and at least $225m on powertrain components. The partnership will allow Aston Martin to create a bespoke BEV platform suitable for all future products, from hypercars to SUVs. The first of these EVs is due in 2025.
