The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has hired crisis management firm the Levinson Group to assist with messaging efforts during the ongoing actors' and writers' double strike, which is causing severe economic consequences. The AMPTP has previously enlisted political operatives during strikes, and the hiring of the Levinson Group follows the breakdown of recent talks between the AMPTP and the Writers Guild of America (WGA). A baker in Keighley, UK, refused to make free cakes for ex-Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley in exchange for social media exposure and mentions in OK! magazine, sparking a viral social media exchange. Many landlords, vendors, and consultants have sued Twitter over unpaid bills that Musk inherited when he bought the company, before he implemented deep cost cuts.

The payment has fueled speculation that the Duchess of Sussex could run for office.
