Resistance in Color: Minnesota State Fair Art Responds to ICE Surge
The Minnesota State Fair’s crop art and fine arts exhibitions center on the winter ICE surge, with a record 594 crop‑art submissions and 343 fine‑arts entries reflecting Operation Metro Surge and resistance. Artists depict detentions, protests, and trauma, reimagining pieces like Guernica and Liberty Leading the People with protest imagery, stop-sign memes, and other political commentary to process current events and communal pain.
