Smoke forces emergency landing on American Eagle flight carrying Kansas congressman
An American Airlines regional jet operated by PSA Airlines (American Eagle Flight 5318) bound for Kansas City from Reagan National declared an emergency after smoke was detected in the cabin. The flight landed safely in Kansas City, with all 76 passengers evacuating onto the taxiway. Rep. Tracey Mann of Kansas was aboard and shared photos from the scene. The FAA will investigate, American said safety is the top priority, and no injuries were reported.
