HUD probes Wells Fargo over minority lending programs
The Trump administration's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has opened an investigation into Wells Fargo for alleged violations of the Fair Housing Act. The probe targets the bank's past initiatives designed to increase Black homeownership, which officials argue constitute illegal race-based discrimination. The move follows a 2012 settlement where Wells Fargo paid to resolve similar discrimination allegations.
