20th Century Studios offered a first look at Ridley Scott’s post‑apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, based on Peter Heller’s novel and set for a Aug. 28 release. Jacob Elordi leads as a grief‑stricken pilot navigating a desolate American wilderness with his dog, who teams up with two other survivors after a radio transmission suggests they’re not alone. Written by Mark L. Smith, the film also stars Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong, with Scott and Scott Free’s Michael Pruss producing. CinemaCon footage was touted as tailored for the big screen, designed to blow audiences away.
