The Sinking City 2 shifts from deductive, open-world investigation to a lean survival-horror approach in Arkham with a new lead, Calvin Rafferty. Combat feels more solid, but scarcity of ammo and supplies—and tighter, more linear pacing—drive the tension, even as puzzles play a lighter role. The Sinking City 2 is a pulpy, Lovecraftian action-horror that blends semi-open exploration, puzzle-driven investigations and frequent gunfights in a flooded Arkham-inspired city. It channels a Resident Evil 2–style UI and pacing, with clever puzzles that justify exploration but relentless combat and a flat romance subplot hold it back. The game is powered by the real-world grit of Ukrainian developers amid wartime sirens, underscoring a theme of resilience as the city sinks. Out August 18.

Two Xbox Series X|S sequels have been confirmed for Summer 2026: Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, expanding to up to four-player co-op with new classes and more xenomorphs, and The Sinking City 2, a Lovecraftian survival horror powered by Unreal Engine 5 in the flooded city of Arkham.
