Green Bay announced a contract extension for linebacker Isaiah McDuffie, a sixth-year veteran out of Boston College who has appeared in 80 regular-season games with 38 starts and contributed heavily on defense and special teams. GM Brian Gutekunst confirmed the move Monday.
The Atlanta Falcons signed three UFL standouts—defensive end Keshawn Banks, defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell and wide receiver Antwane Wells Jr.—after their second mandatory minicamp practice to bolster depth, while releasing wide receiver Casey Washington, defensive tackle Elijah Garcia and defensive end CJ Nunnally IV. The Steelers signed tight end Darnell Washington to a new five-year contract, keeping the 2023 third-round pick in Pittsburgh. In three seasons he’s appeared in 50 games with 29 starts, totaling 57 receptions for 625 yards and two touchdowns, including a breakout 2025 with 31 receptions for 364 yards in 16 games (13 starts) before finishing the year on the Reserve/Injured List; he’s been a key blocker in the offense’s tush push and earned attention for powerful runs. Washington played at Georgia and progressed from his rookie year to 2025.
The Steelers signed linebacker Jamin Davis and tight end Robert Tonyan to one-year contracts, with both players participating in minicamp on a tryout basis. Davis, a 2021 first-round pick who has spent time with the Commanders, Packers, Vikings, Jets and Raiders, joins a defense that’s adding veteran depth; Tonyan, who spent 2017-22 with the Packers and has 149 receptions for 1,550 yards and 17 touchdowns in 107 games, adds receiving versatility. Bell, a 2024 seventh-round pick by the Patriots, also spent time with the Eagles and played college football at South Carolina and Florida State, finishing with 95 receptions for 1,260 yards and nine touchdowns (plus four rushing scores).
The San Francisco Giants designated outfielder Jerar Encarnacion for assignment and optioned Will Brennan to Triple-A Sacramento, in a package of moves that included recalling Bryce Eldridge and Jesús Rodríguez, plus bringing up Trevor McDonald and placing lefty Erik Miller on the 15-day IL with a low back strain. Encarnacion, who has struggled in the majors and is out of options, now enters DFA/waivers as the Giants attempt to shake up a struggling offense.
