The Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Brandon Cisse and claimed wide receiver Brenden Rice off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders; Rice, a USC product and 2024 seventh‑round pick, has spent time on multiple practice squads and injured reserve, and will wear No. 89 for Green Bay.
The Cleveland Browns placed linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) on reserve/physically unable to perform and designated punter Nik Constantinou as the team’s international player. Owusu-Koramoah, a 2021 second-round pick, suffered a neck injury against the Ravens on Oct. 27, 2024, and has 49 games played with 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and 40 tackles for loss.
The Steelers signed tight end Jaheim Bell to a one-year contract, bringing him back after he spent part of the 2025 season on the Steelers’ practice squad. Bell, a 2024 seventh-round pick by the Patriots, also spent time with the Eagles and played college football at South Carolina and Florida State, finishing with 95 receptions for 1,260 yards and nine touchdowns (plus four rushing scores).
The San Francisco Giants designated outfielder Jerar Encarnacion for assignment and optioned Will Brennan to Triple-A Sacramento, in a package of moves that included recalling Bryce Eldridge and Jesús Rodríguez, plus bringing up Trevor McDonald and placing lefty Erik Miller on the 15-day IL with a low back strain. Encarnacion, who has struggled in the majors and is out of options, now enters DFA/waivers as the Giants attempt to shake up a struggling offense. McDonald is starting tonight in what may be a spot start after the Giants’ doubleheader, and Miller’s injury further thins a bullpen that already leans on lefties Matt Gage and Ryan Borucki.
Baltimore signed veteran quarterback Skylar Thompson to compete for the No. 3 spot, adding a four-year NFL veteran who previously played for the Dolphins and Steelers and appeared in 10 games with 3 starts; with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley atop the depth chart, coach Jesse Minter said the Ravens could carry three to five QBs, and Baltimore also added undrafted rookies Diego Pavia and Joe Fagnano to the 90-man roster.

The Buffalo Bills announced they released cornerback Taron Johnson, safety Taylor Rapp, wide receiver Curtis Samuel and cornerback Dane Jackson ahead of free agency. Johnson spent eight seasons in Buffalo, recording 572 tackles and earning second-team All-Pro in 2023; Rapp’s 2025 season was cut short by knee injury, Samuel contributed in the postseason, and Jackson recently returned to Buffalo before the offseason. The moves kick off a major roster shakeup as the Bills reshape their secondary and receiving corps.
The Pittsburgh Steelers released tight end Jonnu Smith, who joined the team last year in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. Smith has appeared in 141 games with 91 starts across his career with the Titans, Patriots, Falcons, Dolphins, and Steelers, tallying 345 receptions for 3,529 yards and 30 touchdowns, plus 19 rushing attempts for 126 yards and 1 rushing TD. In 2025 he had 38 receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Earlier this week, the Steelers also released offensive lineman Calvin Anderson.
The New York Jets placed the 2026 non-exclusive franchise tag on running back Breece Hall, allowing him to negotiate with other teams while giving the Jets the right to match any offer; if Hall signs elsewhere, the Jets would receive two first-round picks as compensation. Hall produced 1,065 rushing yards in 2024 and 1,415 yards from scrimmage with five total touchdowns, and the Jets have until July 15 to work out a long-term contract with him.
The Atlanta Falcons have dismissed assistant defensive line coach LaTroy Lewis from his role.
