Tim Janus, the competitive eater known as 'Eater X' and a former world ranking No. 2, has died at age 49 following a battle with cancer. A Simsbury, Connecticut native who lived in New York City, Janus competed professionally from 2006 to 2018, winning titles in tiramisu, ramen, and sushi eating.
