Fat Type Determines Pancreatic Cancer Growth, Study Finds

A Yale-led study in Cancer Discovery shows that the effect of dietary fat on pancreatic cancer depends on fat type, not amount: oleic acid accelerates tumor growth in mice, while omega-3 polyunsaturated fats slow it via ferroptosis; the MUFA/PUFA balance and sex differences also influence outcomes, with human relevance yet to be confirmed.
