Chicago braces for Thursday's severe storms with tornado risk

After Wednesday’s damaging storms toppled trees and caused widespread outages, Chicago-area forecasters warn of another round Thursday, with a Level 4 severe-weather risk and a main window 4 p.m.–10 p.m. for damaging winds, large hail and possible tornadoes; heavy rain could worsen outages that have affected hundreds of thousands, disrupted CTA Yellow Line service, and left some homes and condo buildings in Stickney and Dolton uninhabitable.
