Impending Sierra Nevada Storm: Over a Foot of Snow and 100 mph Wind Gusts Expected

The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for the Sierra Nevada region, warning of more than a foot of snow and wind gusts up to 100 mph. The advisories are in effect from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning, covering areas from Lake Tahoe to south of Yosemite National Park. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are expected, along with slippery road conditions and poor visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage and hazardous boating conditions on Lake Tahoe.
