Lake Effect Snow Alert: Winter Storm Warning for Lower Michigan

A clipper system is expected to bring several inches of snow to parts of Lower Michigan, with areas along the Michigan coast of Lake Michigan under a winter weather advisory and Van Buren County under a winter storm warning. The National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions, slick roads, near-zero visibility, and blowing snow. Snow accumulation estimates range from two to six inches, depending on the location. Metro Detroit will see a mix of rain and snow showers, with a greater chance of light snow accumulation in the Thumb region.
