"Michigan Braces for Severe Weather: Tornadoes and Damaging Winds Expected"

The National Weather Service has increased the risk for severe weather in central and southern Michigan, with the biggest threats including damaging wind gusts, lightning strikes, power outages, and the possibility of a weak, isolated tornado. The area of higher risk stretches from Grand Rapids to Coldwater, with the west side experiencing the highest risk from 1 to 7 p.m. and the southeast side from 4 to 11 p.m. Cooler weather is expected to follow the storm system.
