Storms Deliver 60 mph Winds, Leave 50K in Metro Atlanta Without Power

Severe Saturday storms swept across metro Atlanta, bringing up to 60 mph wind gusts, heavy rain and hail up to an inch. More than 50,000 customers lost power, with about 5,000 still outages according to Georgia Power maps. Fulton County faced the heaviest impact, trees were uprooted across the area (including a large tree that fell onto a Roswell home), and crews from Georgia Power and local electric co-ops are assessing damage as they work to restore service. No injuries were reported.
