A fireball streaked across the night sky over Arizona, visible from several states, and caught the attention of NASA. The American Meteorological Society received reports from 118 people who witnessed the event, and NASA confirmed that it was caused by a meteor burning through the Earth’s atmosphere. Videos and NASA Fireball Network cameras captured the blazing meteor as it traveled at 32,300 mph before breaking up over the Eagletail Mountains Wilderness in Arizona, potentially producing meteorites in the area.
