Solitary Galaxy Captured by Hubble Space Telescope

The Hubble Space Telescope has captured a new image of the spiral galaxy IC 1776, which is located over 150 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces. The image reveals the galaxy's irregular shape, faint edges, and indistinct spiral arms. Observations suggest that IC 1776 recently experienced a violent star explosion, or supernova, named SN 2015ap. The Hubble Telescope followed up with observations of the supernova's aftermath, providing insights into the debris left behind by such cosmic cataclysms.
