"Lonely Galaxy Captured by Hubble Space Telescope"
The Hubble Space Telescope has captured a new image of the distant galaxy IC 1776, located over 150 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces. The image reveals its irregular shape, indistinct spiral arms, and small blue regions where stars are forming. Observations suggest that the galaxy recently experienced a violent star explosion, or supernova, named SN 2015ap. The Hubble's follow-up observations of the supernova's aftermath will provide insights into the systems that give rise to these cosmic cataclysms.
