"Uncovering Cosmic Megastructures: Challenging Our Universe's Understanding"

Scientists have accidentally discovered a massive ring-shaped structure in space, dubbed the Big Ring, with a diameter of about 1.3 billion light-years, challenging current understanding of the universe. This structure, made up of galaxies and galaxy clusters, is the second of its size to be identified and is located more than nine billion light-years from Earth. The discovery, made by British PhD student Alexia Lopez, suggests that current cosmological theories may need rethinking, as these structures were previously thought to be impossible according to existing models.
