Researchers have identified a new sauropod species, Sidersaura marae, as one of the last and largest dinosaurs of its kind, discovered in Argentina's Neuquén Province. Fossils from four individuals, dating back 93-96 million years, revealed the massive size of up to 65 feet long and 16.5 tons in weight, challenging previous understanding of rebbachisaurid sauropods. The discovery sheds light on the evolution of this dinosaur family as it neared extinction, with S. marae representing one of the final forms of the group.
