Unraveling the Mysteries of 'Vortenses' in the Storms of Space-Time

Physicist Kip Thorne and visual artist Lia Halloran have collaborated on a book project titled "The Warped Side of Our Universe, An Odyssey Through Black Holes, Wormholes, Time Travel and Gravitational Waves." The book combines Thorne's explanations of physics in verse with Halloran's illustrations depicting the "space-time storms" predicted by general relativity. The illustrations include cutting-edge science based on work led by Thorne and Saul Teukolsky at Cornell University. The collaboration between Thorne and Halloran began over a decade ago and has resulted in various projects, including an article commissioned for Playboy Magazine.
