"Exploring the Cosmic Connection: Black Holes, Love, and Poetry"

Physicist Kip Thorne and visual artist Lia Halloran have released an illustrated book, "The Warped Side of Our Universe," exploring the strange and chaotic nature of space-time around black holes. The book combines Thorne's explanations and Halloran's paintings, including depictions of her wife near a black hole. Thorne expresses his scientific concepts in verse, aiming to convey the essence of the subject matter. The collaboration between science and art aims to engage readers and deepen their understanding of the cosmos.

Unraveling the Mysteries of 'Vortenses' in the Storms of Space-Time

Physicist Kip Thorne and visual artist Lia Halloran have collaborated on a book project titled "The Warped Side of Our Universe, An Odyssey Through Black Holes, Wormholes, Time Travel and Gravitational Waves." The book combines Thorne's explanations of physics in verse with Halloran's illustrations depicting the "space-time storms" predicted by general relativity. The illustrations include cutting-edge science based on work led by Thorne and Saul Teukolsky at Cornell University. The collaboration between Thorne and Halloran began over a decade ago and has resulted in various projects, including an article commissioned for Playboy Magazine.
