Ghanaian Scientist's Role in NASA's Mars InSight Mission

Ghanaian scientist Dr. Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu played a pivotal role in designing NASA's InSight spacecraft, which successfully landed on Mars in 2018. Born in Accra, Ghana, Trebi-Ollennu pursued his education in avionics and control systems engineering in the UK before joining NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 1999. He has contributed to several Mars missions, including the Mars Exploration Rover and the Mars Science Laboratory. Trebi-Ollennu also founded the Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation to promote science education in Ghana.
