Keanna Jardine, a Guyanese woman based in the US, is set to join a NASA research team at Arizona State University to study the OSIRIS-Rex samples. Jardine, who migrated to the US at the age of 10, overcame challenges to obtain a PhD in Physics with a concentration in Planetary Science. She is the first black woman to graduate with a PhD in physics from her university and hopes to inspire underrepresented minority groups to pursue similar opportunities. Jardine's journey was not without difficulties, including the loss of her mother, but with the support of her family and a professor, she persevered and secured her spot with NASA.
