Unveiling the Secret Chatter: Decoding Bacterial Conversations

Researchers have discovered a new class of bacterial signalling peptides, known as leaderless communication peptides (LCPs), by searching for homologues of the receptor of the only known LCP. This reverse approach identified 183 novel candidate LCP receptors associated with a putative LCP, revealing hidden conversations between bacteria.
