Astronomers have identified the first known exomoon—a Jupiter-mass satellite orbiting a brown dwarf (CD-35 2772) about 71 light-years away—discovered via radial velocity measurements, challenging how we classify planets and moons and signaling more exomoon hunts with the forthcoming ELT.
