NASA Calls for Innovative Moon Rescue Solutions

NASA has launched a public challenge to design a system capable of rescuing incapacitated astronauts on the Moon's south pole, offering up to $20,000 for the best solution. The challenge requires a design that can transport a fully suited astronaut over two kilometers on a 20-degree slope without a rover, while withstanding extreme lunar conditions. The competition, open until January 2025, aims to address the difficulties of moving astronauts in bulky suits across the Moon's harsh terrain.
