NASA's Psyche spacecraft is undergoing final preparations at Cape Canaveral for its October 5 launch. The spacecraft will embark on a 2.5 billion-mile journey to explore the metal-rich asteroid Psyche, which could provide insights into planetary cores and the formation of planets. The mission team has completed a comprehensive test campaign and installed the flight software on the spacecraft. Psyche is set to launch atop a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket and will spend at least 26 months orbiting the asteroid, gathering data about its history and composition.
