NASA's Fiscal 2024 Budget Slashed by $2.3 Billion

NASA's 2024 budget of $24.875 billion falls $2.3 billion short of its requested amount, with the Artemis program receiving $7.67 billion for Moon missions and uncertainty surrounding funding for the Mars Sample Return mission. The budget also includes $227 million for the cancelled On-Orbit Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (OSAM) 1 mission, and NASA has suspended work on the Geospace Dynamics Constellation. The agency will likely need to make further adjustments as it works on returning astronauts to the Moon and bringing back samples from Mars.
