SpaceX successfully launched Intuitive Machines' Nova-C lunar lander, named "Odysseus," in a bid to become the first non-government entity to achieve a soft touchdown on the Moon since the Apollo missions. The mission, part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative, aims to land the first US robot on the lunar surface in over five decades. The lander is scheduled to reach its landing site on February 22, carrying science hardware and a digital archive of human knowledge. This marks the second private-led lunar landing attempt this year, following a failed mission by Astrobotic in January.
