China's Zhurong Mars rover has not communicated since it entered hibernation due to a lack of sunlight reaching it to generate enough power, according to Zhang Rongqiao, chief designer of China's Mars exploration program. Reports suggest an unseen pile of dust may have blocked sunlight from the rover. NASA's Insight Lander shut down last year due to similar problems. China has always been secretive about its space endeavors.
