How AI Can Help Us Discover Life on Mars.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning could make the search for life on Mars much less arduous. An international team of researchers led by astrobiologist Kimberley Warren-Rhodes of the SETI Institute has shown that these tools can identify hidden patterns in geographical data that could indicate the presence of signs of life. The researchers used AI to recognize structures in the basin more likely to be teeming with life, reducing the amount of ground they needed to cover by a whopping 85 to 97 percent.
