India's Lunar Rover Slumbers, Possibly Forever

India's lunar rover, Pragyan, part of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, has been put into sleep mode as the lunar night sets in, with temperatures dropping to -120C (-184F). The rover's mission objectives of landing safely on the Moon and demonstrating its ability to drive have been achieved. Pragyan has transmitted all its data and there is hope it can be reawakened when the lunar day returns on September 22nd. The mission has already provided valuable data, including temperature measurements and the detection of sulphur near the Moon's South Pole. India's success in lunar exploration adds to its growing expertise in space missions.
