JWST's Raw Images of Saturn Leave Viewers Speechless.

The James Webb Space Telescope has released its first raw images of Saturn, taken with its Near Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) instrument. Although the images are yet to be processed, the telescope has uploaded the raw images to the unofficial JWST Feed website. The images show Saturn almost black, with its rings gleaming in isolation against the blackness of space. The observations were commissioned by a team led by planetary scientist Leigh Fletcher of the University of Leicester in the UK, who hope to use the NIRSpec data to learn more about Saturn's moons and rings.
