"NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter sets new record with 55th successful flight"

NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter completed its 55th flight on August 12, covering a distance of 866 feet (264 meters) at a height of 32.8 feet (10 meters). With a total of 55 flights, Ingenuity has covered 41,024 feet (12,503 meters) and stayed aloft for nearly 98 minutes. The success of Ingenuity paves the way for future Mars helicopters and aerial exploration on the Red Planet. NASA plans to send two similar helicopters to Mars later this decade to assist in collecting samples for a planned return to Earth.
