NASA's Record-Breaking Crawler-Transporter Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Guinness World Records Recognition.

NASA's Crawler Transporter 2, which was originally designed to carry Saturn V rockets during the Apollo program, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's heaviest self-powered vehicle, weighing in at 6.65 million pounds. The vehicle recently underwent an upgrade to support the Artemis SLS megarocket and successfully escorted the SLS rocket and the Orion capsule for their inaugural launch during the Artemis 1 mission in November 2022. The crawler is now being prepped for Artemis 2, scheduled for launch in November 2024.
