A new video created using data collected by the European Space Agency's Mars Express spacecraft and NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter takes viewers on a flight through Jezero Crater, the area currently being explored by NASA's Perseverance rover. The video reveals details of the ancient lakebed on the surface of Mars, including an outflow channel, two inflow channels, and a fan-shaped river delta within the crater. The diverse rocks, materials, features, and mineralogy found in and around the crater could reveal details of the Red Planet's geological history and possible traces of microbial life.
