Russian strike leaves nine dead, rescue teams search for survivors.

At least nine people were killed and 21 others were wounded in a missile strike by Russian forces on residential buildings in the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk. The attack destroyed parts of apartment blocks and damaged several dozen multi-storey buildings and individual houses. Rescue teams are searching for victims in the rubble. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the attack and called Russia an "evil state." Sloviansk and the nearby city of Kramatorsk are both coveted by Russian forces as they push ahead with their invasion of Ukraine.
