Apple Deploys iOS 27.0.1 to Resolve iPhone 18 Pro Face ID Crashes and Camera Glitches
Apple has released iOS 27.0.1, the first minor update for its latest operating system, primarily to address critical bugs affecting the iPhone 18 Pro. The update fixes a severe issue where devices would freeze and restart when Face ID failed to authenticate, a problem that emerged shortly after the iOS 27 launch two weeks ago. Additionally, the patch resolves a color artifact issue in photos taken at 2x zoom under specific lighting conditions on the Pro models and fixes a touchscreen unresponsiveness bug when opening Notification and Control Centers simultaneously. While the update is available for all iPhones running iOS 27, the most significant fixes target the new hardware. Apple also released corresponding updates for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS, as well as security patches for older iOS 26 and macOS 26 devices.
