Escape Collective’s 2026 Road Tyre Tests Reveal New Challenger to Continental’s Speed Dominance
Escape Collective has released its first comprehensive leaderboard ranking ten popular road tyres, finding that a new competitor has challenged Continental's dominance in the fastest category. The independent outlet tested Pirelli, Vittoria, and Specialized models using a Streamlines Cirrus drag measurement system across three pressures and multiple wind conditions. While the data offers clear insights for racing and everyday riding, it also highlights significant performance gaps, including a surprisingly slow result for one of the market's most popular tyres. The testing process was delayed by weather constraints, but the final data provides a detailed comparison of aerodynamic drag, pressure response, and vibration characteristics for the 2026 season.
